Due to the completely redesigned ethos for class and archetypes in The Domains of Dread, there are few arbitrary build restrictions. At present, no character should:
- Have an Intelligence score at or below
6, the minimum for sapience. - Have more than
1manually lowered attribute at or below8. This does not include automatic adjustments due to race or background selection. - Have less than
11in their primary spellcasting or ability attribute. This does include automatic adjustments due to race or background selection. - Have more than
1base class and archetype. Multiclassing is disabled in The Domains of Dread across all classes and archetypes. - Should a character no longer qualify for their class and/or archetype due to alignment slides or another lost prerequisite, they may qualify for a rebuild at the discretion of the Game Masters. Do note that in the case of fallen Paladins, they will never again qualify for Paladin after falling outside of a time-limited event chaperoned by Game Masters.
Relevels
Relevels permit a player to redo any choice made when leveling their character to their present level. This may be invoked using the !relevel chat command while inside the out of character experience. Relevels may be taken as many times as required, however a character loses any progress made to the next level when releveling.
Rebuilds
Rebuilds permit a player to totally remake their character as if they were a new character except keeping experience, inventory, and any other information regarding the character. This may be invoked using the !rebuild chat command while inside the out of character experience. Rebuilds, unlike relevels, have limitations:
- They must be taken before the character achieves the
9th level, or no more than 90 days IRT after achieving that level; - Class cannot be changed unless prompted or waived by the Game Masters;
- The first and last name must correlate unless prompted or waived by the Game Masters;
- Archetype may change, but the character must fulfill any archetype requirements as usual.
Once a character is no longer eligible for rebuilds, the Game Masters will only approve a rebuild for cases of sweeping class archetype changes, story reasons such as a fallen Paladin being rebuilt into a Dark Knight, or due to unintended module behavior and/or bugs. Once rebuilt, the prior incarnation of the character will be deleted from the account vault.
